The first thing that Emmi realized when she had awoken was that she was once again completely alone. The cave seemed even darker to her while her eyes were forced to reajust to the dim lighting coming from the mouth of the cave. Derek couldn't stop himself from tearing up as he laid down on the bed that Emmi used while she was there, Sierra sleeping soundly in his arms and rolling around, kicking her hind legs as she started to have one of her first dreams. Emmi slowly looked around the intense darkness surrounding her, trying to find her way through what seemed to her like an endless maze of shadows and emptiness. She stood motionless for awhile, studying her surrounding to make sure that she was along, and she used some of Lugia's powers to scan the area for any type of enemy there might be.

Chapter 49 ~ Reality

Emmi emerged from her unconsciousness suddenly and found herself coughing and struggling to breathe. She let the fit subside on its own after a while, however, and quickly took a look around the cave to figure out exactly what had happened while she was out.
She looked down below her, where she found Ryu laying almost lifeless on the cave floor. She couldn't really get a good look at him, so she illumiated the cave a little with the light from her birthmark. When she finally saw what had happened to Ryu, she felt sick to her stomach and turned the other way and began to throw up.
